Psychiatry in the East”) is a controversial 1933 German documentary film
directed by Ernst Klee, which exposes to the public the inhumane conditions
inside the psychiatric hospital in Ueckermünde, in the former East Germany.
The shocking documentary was censored for years in Germany due to the
crudeness of its content and the denunciations it exposes.
