“Les Escargots” (“The Snails”) is a 1966 French animated fantasy short film written by Roland Topor and René Laloux, and directed by René Laloux under the production company SOFAC. The short film is known for receiving its inspiration from the inmates of a psychiatric center.



Synopsis.

A farmer tries unsuccessfully to make his crops grow. One day, his tears cause the plants to overgrow, bringing chaos to the city.
