SAW IV. The discarded ending by Darren Bousman and Lyriq Bent?

One of the most controversial points in the criticized fourth installment of the "Saw" saga is the second "twist" in the film, which "reveals" that Officer Rigg should not have opened the door, as it led to the death of Detective Eric Matthews. A twist that, apparently, could have been completely "indecipherable".

Darren and Lyriq´s ending.

During the second half of the behind-the-scenes footage of the fourth installment, we can hear actor Lyriq Bent and director Darren Lynn Bousman discussing an ending that they considered to be better. Now, information shared between fans appears to reveal what that ending would be.

According to the information, Officer Rigg arrives at the door leading to Eric and Hoffman, but does not open it. He stays outside lamenting and crying, not saving them. That is when Special Agent Straham arrives at the room and finds Rigg holding his gun. Believing him to be responsible, Straham shoots Rigg, killing him.

Improvement?

Apparently, this ending assumed that the viewer already knew that Rigg should not open the door, thus changing the course of the story and increasing the tragedy when Rigg dies by accident/mistake.
