During an interview for the “Seeing Saw” podcast, on the occasion of the 2021
release of “Spiral: From the Book of Saw,” the co-creator of the series, Leigh
Whannell, revealed an initial idea he had for the plot of the third installment
in the “Saw” franchise.
The original plot.
According to the filmmaker, “Saw III” retained the storyline and plot
involving Dr. Lynn Denlon, but the character who had to prevent Jigsaw's
death was none other than Dr. Gordon.
The movie began with Gordon crawling out of the bathroom and being found by
Jigsaw, who would force him to keep him alive, while Alisson, Gordon's wife,
would have to go through a series of trials before meeting the doctor.
The story took place two months after the bathroom incident. Alisson,
worried about Gordon's whereabouts, received a package in the mail
explaining the rules. Amanda's storyline was also included in this version.
